About us
We are open Monday to Friday, 7.30am - 6.00pm.
The nursery is closed for the week between Christmas and New Year and all bank holidays.
The Old vicarage is currently divided into 4 areas:

Each area ensures correct staffing ratios are maintained at all times. We employ Qualified Nursery Nurses whom are assisted by Nursery Assistants (working towards a child care qualification). They are chosen with great care through interviews, police and OFSTED checks, references, and equally important on their personality and ability to ensure high standards of care are constantly maintained.
All areas are well equipped with excellent learning provisions, to ensure your child can fulfill their potential before their transition to main stream school.
Aims
We aim to provide a safe, friendly, caring, stimulating environment for your child. High quality of care and pre school education - delivered by experienced staff members. Provide a good balance of planned / focused activities and free play. To interact with children, encouraging self reliance and individuality. Develop good relationships with parents/carers to ensure we respect their wishes at all times.Provide a positive learning environment for all children, regardless of race, religion, gender or learning needs.
What else do we offer?
Come and see our newly installed light-sensory room, specially designed to stimulate and inspire all of the children under our care. We work closely with many outside agencies including Sure Start, therefore we are able to access many out reach workers such as Library Sessions, Dental bus workshop, Follow up work shops, Speech and language support, M6 Theatre company.
Staff are constantly updating their personal knowledge through various courses offered to them. This ensures all current legislations are being adhered to and enabling them to deliver the best possible care for your child.
We offer an open door policy to all our parents this enables you to speak to staff and view your child's records at any time.
We hold regular parents social evenings to enable you to meet all the staff and parents.
Extensive Individual Education Plans are in place for children with Educational Needs.
We pride ourselves on the friendly, welcoming atmosphere we create, and the excellent feed back from past and presents parents/carers.
Staff 'practise' raising boys achievements by tailoring activities both indoors and outdoors to ensure boys reach their full potential before commencing reception class.
Laroche Rochdale is now an ECat setting (Every child a talker) which enables staff to monitor children's speaking and communication skills-ensuring all children have the best opportunities to develop within these areas - we work closely with speech and language professionals as required.
Our staff caring for babies have completed a six month training programme tailored towards offering childen the best start in life!

Please note you need only provide nappies and bottles, we will provide powdered milk and all food.
* We are registered for the Nursery Education Grant and as of April 2007 we are able to offer 3 & 4 year old children 15 hours per week free (term time only) of your choice, funded by the Government. In addition Rochdale is piloting a scheme to allow some 2 year olds free places also, up to 15 hours per week. Please see your Health Visitor for further details.
